Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope you enjoy learning about Mount Lewis Infants School as you explore our site. My name is Angela Rieger, I've been the Principal of this school since 2015.
Mount Lewis is a K-2 school. We offer a very stable, safe and dynamic environment for both students and parents/carers. The school enjoys a positive profile with the local community and attracts students from the area as well as children from parents who were ex-students.
Our School Plan aims to deliver high quality teaching to students along with exposure to first hand experiences that complement learning. Literacy and Numeracy are highly valued and supported by outstanding programs as well as by consistent professional learning for the staff.
The students at MLIS have opportunities to become successful learners and to reach their potential both academically and socially. We highly support student wellbeing through PBL, consistent expectations, creating a predictable school year through extensive communication with the community and by fostering a warm, friendly and welcoming climate.
Children are sent to school to learn and to be given every opportunity in the future. Having the ability to choose what you want to do is very powerful and once you have an education that has inspired you to strive and to acheive your best, you can make your choices. At MLIS we prepare students to be leaders, to think, to be reslilient and to enjoy all aspects of school life. Our students transition to local schools in Year 3 with a confident and positive outlook.
