Creative arts is mandatory for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
In creative arts, students discover a variety of art forms through a study of dance, drama, music and visual arts where they learn to appreciate, compose, listen, make and perform.
Each art form has its own unique knowledge and skills, elements or concepts as well as a capacity to inspire and enrich lives.
This year all students are participating in the 'Jellybeans Music' program. This program develops an awareness of musical concepts and teaches students to read basic notes and symbols commonly used in written music. Throughout these lessons, students sing, play and move to a range of music whilst developing a sense of beat and pitch.
Students are encouraged to create individual artworks in their classrooms with fabulous results. Our students are regularly recognised in both state and national visual arts competitions. You can view some of their work in our school foyer.
Each year all students are encouraged to try out for the Kindergarten and Stage 1 dance groups and our school choir. Students in dance groups and choir have previously represented our school locally in our Spring Festival with Banskia Road Public School and also in the Bankstown Area Performing Arts Festival.
